I’m Daniel Bower, a London based magician and host, and a member of The Magic Circle. As well as corporate events and weddings, I perform at private celebrations: birthdays, anniversaries, dinner parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, christenings, and parties at home or in the garden.
My magic happens right in your guests’ hands. Minds are read, objects bend in their own hands, and everyday items like phones become part of the experience. It gets people talking to each other, whether they’ve known each other for years or have only just met.

Mingling magic as guests arrive and chat, then a short show to bring everyone together for a moment built around the person you’re celebrating.

Magic at the table between courses, whether it’s a few friends at home or a full private dining room.

How it works
Close up magic is performed for small groups around the room, often in their hands. It’s the best way to get a party going and works during drinks, dinner or later in the evening.
A stage show brings everyone together for one shared performance, usually 10 to 45 minutes, with your guests as the stars.
Many parties use both. Tell me your plans and I’ll suggest what fits.

Booking a magician for your party.
Do you perform at parties at home?
Yes. Plenty of my private bookings are at home or in the garden, as well as at restaurants, hotels and event venues.
How many guests can you perform for?
Around 50 to 60 guests per hour is a useful rule of thumb for close up magic. For larger parties I may suggest more time or a short stage show, which brings everyone together at once.
How long should I book you for?
It depends mainly on guest numbers. Send me your guest count and timings and I’ll recommend what makes sense.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I’m based in London and regularly perform throughout the UK, including Hertfordshire. I also travel internationally for selected private bookings.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as your date is confirmed. Popular Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays can book months ahead, especially around Christmas. Last minute bookings are sometimes possible too.
